About Us
Loving Christian Environment:
Psalm 139 tells us that each child has been created by God for a
special purpose. Building Blocks takes seriously the
responsibility of caring for young children and providing
for their spiritual development in all areas of growth. We
seek to partner with the home and the church as we nurture
each child’s physical, emotional, cognitive and social
development and instill the knowledge and love of Jesus
Christ in each child’s heart.
At Building Blocks we provide a safe, fun and challenging
environment with learning centers, Bible stories, and lots
of outdoor play areas where children can explore, create and
build confidence under the guidance of loving Christian
teachers who feel called to teach young children. Our 13,000
sq ft state-of-the-art facility features enclosed playground
space, a 9,500 sq ft. outdoor play area, learning centers in
every classroom, and closed circuit video monitor system
that parents can access via their computer. Quite frankly, there are no
other facilities of this quality anywhere in the area!
Currently, there are three centers available - in
Fayetteville/Hope Mills, Cameron and Raeford. Our
Fayetteville/Hope Mills and Cameron locations are 4-star
centers. Our Raeford center is a 3-star center and will soon
be reaching for 4-stars. All three centers are in the
process of achieving NAEYC accreditation (see
www.naeyc.org for more
information). Each center accepts NACCRRA and limited
subsidy.

The Leadership:
The Administration, teachers and staff at Building Blocks are all confessing Christians who are involved in a local Bible-believing church. All employees meet or exceed the required training levels of the NC Childcare Division and are encouraged to pursue higher learning opportunities in the field of child care for professional development. All BBEEC staff are required to sign a Statement of Faith attesting to their affirmation of the Christian faith and Christian living standards.

Director: Helena Hortman
I have 12 years experience in the child care field, both with family child
care and center care. Working with children is truly my passion in life and is
what God intended for me to do to serve Him daily. I have been happily married
for 18 years and have three beautiful daughters. |

Director: Donna Graveson
Donna is married with two children of her own and been married for 20 years.
She is originally from Florida and has been blessed to travel the world by her
14 years of service to our country. She has 16 years experience in the child
care and education field. She has been in the classroom with all ages and part
of the administrative team. She graduated from UNCP with a Bachelor of Science
in Elementary Education with a concentration in Sociology and Special Needs. |

Director: Kristine Murphy
Kristine is originally from the Midwest and moved from South Florida to North
Carolina seven years ago. Kristine is recently married with a new family of
three step children. She has worked in the child care and education industy for
24 years and as a center director for the past 19 years. She graduated with an
Associates of Science degree in education from Montreat Christian College and
continuing towards a bachelor’s in early childhood education with a
concentration in psychology. |
